MASONIC.

The annual installation of tlio W,M, and investiture of officers of St, Marks Lodge 2059, E.G.,took place at Carterton on Tuesday last, There was a large gathering of the craft, among whom were the following Past Master's, Bros, Wickerson and Berry (Masterton Lodge, E.G.,) Bros, J. (i. Cox and J, Reynolds, (St John's Lodge ft 0., Fentherston), Bros, J, Smith, G, M, Gardener, 0. E, Halloran, (rifc, Mark's Lodge, E.C.). The ceremony was impressively performed by Bio, J. Smith, the charges and addresses being delivered in a very imposing manner, The musical portion of the service was under the direction of Bro T. A. Weston, who presided at the organ. The following ate the officers invested for the ensuing year;— Bros, 0, H. Gayfer, W.M,; E, Darby, J,P.M.; N, Grace, S.W.; A. Booth, J.W.; Dr Johnston, Treasurer; C, E, Halloran, Secretary; W. P. Allen, S.D.; Bairstow, J. D.; Underbill, 1.G,; Horn, Tyler. After the proceedings a sumptuous repast was provided for the brethren in the Loilge-rootu, when about fifty sat down to the spread. The good things provided having received ample attention, the usual Loyal and Masonic toasts were duly proposed and honored with musical accompaniments. Considerable talent was displayed by those present, who, by singing and recitation, added much to the enjoyment of the evening,
