Carterton Borough Council.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Council was held on Monday. The Treasurer reparted a debit balance of £lO2 18s. A letter from Messrs G. A. Pairbrother and W. B. Campin, agents for some patent closets was allowed to stand over till next meeting. The ''Pirates" Juvenile football Club's application to use the reserve for practice and play when not engaged by the senior clubs was granted provided no damage was done to the trees or fences. Mr Watson was authorised to have a few loads of gravel from the pit on Mr Wakelin's land subject to the iatters' approval. Some accounts were passed for payment, The Clerk read an estimate of the probable receipts and expenditure for the ensuing year, which was approved. It was resolved to levy at their next meeting of the Council a rate of fd m the iJ on all rateable property in the Borough for the current year.
