• The specialists declare that the Emperor's lungs are inflamed. 1 The fever returned at midnight. Sir Morell Mankenzie attributes the abscesses to an affection of the trachea. An official bulletin states the fever from which the Emperor has been suffering is gradually abating, and the danger of pneumonia is alsolessening. The general condition of his Majesty is reported as more satisfactory.

The Boulanger excitement is increasing, and extensive precautions have been taken to prevent' any disturbance arising out of the crisis.

Mr Dillon, M.P., has arrived at Dublin, and has been admitted to bail. He will be tried on 9th May for criminal conspiracy. The Government Lave practically agreed to the request of the Rabbit Conference to set aside an island off the coast and a tract of country inland for the purpose of testing the various methods for extermination. '
M. Pasteur's agent has been licensed to introduce microbes into the colony, and steps will be at once taken to fence a thousand acres inland for the purpose of'experimenting with the microbes.
