Correspondence.
To the Editor. Sin.—A letter appeared in your issue of to-day, signed " A Sufferer," complaining of being annoyed after the gas is lit by a species qf fi Hobble-de-hoys," commonly called'larrikins,' I do not know that Masterton is singular in this respect, but it is a fact that has become disgracefully notorious, that one cannot walk through our streets at night, without being molested by little bands of these "hoodlums," who congregate at street corners, insulting everyone who happens to pass who would not be likely to punch their heads; and the language of these louts is not always of the' choicest description, 'lt is evident that some stejjs should be taken to suppress a nuisance is fast becoming intolerable. Yours, etc., Citizen. Maiiterton, April 12,1888.
