LAND BOARD.
A meeting of the Lanil Board wag held yesterday, there being present . y —Messrs J. W, A, Marciiant (Com■ty missioner, in the chair), G, Beethani, "' M.H.R,, I), 11. Macai'tlnu', W. W. McCardle, and W. A. Fitzherbert, The following applications were grantedA, Burling, to be allowed to capitalise 011 sections 12 and 20, Block XI,, Mangaone; F. F, Collins to be allowed to transfer sections 1-175 and 1-176, Biumythorpe; W. Groves, to transfer deferred payfit sections 28 acres and 28 perches ck VI., Mangaone, to T. 11. Groves; W. Venables, to transfer section 9, BlockVl., Mangaone, to T. H. Groves; W. Venables, to transfer section 9, Block V,, Waipnkiirau, toF. L, Jackson. It was decided to issue the title of section 15, Block XII., Oroua, to Mr J. 0. Hay, on payment of the balance outstanding. The UnderSecretary of Mines forwarded a Gazette notice authorising the issue of prospecting licenses and mining leases. It was decided that urgent cases should be dealt with by the Commissioner. Upon r consideration it was decided not to agree to Mr Meredith's application for a refund of the cost of surveying sections 1 and 2, Block XI., Rewa; the value of the land to be 5s an acre. The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands wrote, stating that there can be no broken periods in payment of interest 011 capitalised deferred payment secon amounts due at the time of Iwipleting the transaction. It was decided to offer sections 2 and 7, Mauriceville East township, on the village settlement conditions, at £0 per lot. The Under-Secretary for Crown Lands wrote stating that 20 per cent must be added to the capital value of perpetual lease land in all cases where applications to convert them into deferred payment holdings are made; the restriction as to declarations, &e., to be waived in favor of the lease-hol-der applying for an exchange. The holder might also convert 610 acres of land held by him into deferred-pay-ment holdings, although at variance with section 107 of the Land Act of r 1885, The plans of a bridge on the Mangaone Valley road were approved. The Alfredton Road Board wroto applying for payment of thirds from sections pledged to pay interest on the loan raised by them, and forwarding proposals for expending the thirds paid from section 20, Block XI, Mangaone. It was decided to obtain the Siatures of those persons who have yet been approved by the proils, and to then pass forward the payment of the thirds, now due for expenditure. 'With regard to section 26, Tawatara Road, it was decided to approve the plans and proposals submitted. Mr Macarthur brought before the Board a letter from the Kiwitea Road Board complaining of the delay in payment of thirds on special settlement blocks. The Receiver of land revenue stated that he had not had time to prepare the necessary vouchers. The Woodyille-Tiraum ea Special Settlement Association wrote with reference to residence on sections 2, 5, and 9, &c., and asked that the selectors should be put on the samo looting as others, by being allowed to effect double improvements, It was decided to inform the applicants that 110 action would bo taken against them „ without due notice, but that they I should at once take steps to comply ' with the improvement provisions.— N|| Times.
