Supposed Suicide at Featherston,
Featheeston, Thursday. A limn named Edmund Cording was fowl drowned in the railway reservoir at Featherston this morning, bis clothes being placed on the edge of the water. It is supposed to be a case of suicide.

Oheistchoech, Thursday, This morning Edward Currie, who was committed to Addingfcon Gaol on Tuesday for medical treatment for drunkenness, strangled liimself in the padded cell with a strip from liia shirt. He was a shoemaker, and was 41 years old. SUPREME COURT, Wellington, Thursday. Reuben Hind, guilty of arson, at Wellington,. lias been sentenced to twenty-one years hard labor. G, H. J. 0. Dunkin, who informed against Hind, pleaded guilty to burglary, and was sentenced to seven years hard labor,
