and Masterton schools should he ex officio trustees of the Town Lands Trust was again brought under notice, consideration of it having been held oveM'omlast meeting. The Chairman remarked that, in any case, the Masterton School Committee's views should be received before any action was taken upon the request, and there was nothing to show that they had been communicated with. As a matter-of-fact, he might say, unofficially, that his impression was that the Masterton Committee was not favorable to the proposition. After some general cqjjversation, which was against acceding to the request, MiHare moved, and it was carried, that the Fernridge Committee be informed that the Trustees could not see their 'way to comply with the application, as they did not think it would be to the interests of the Trust to do so. Mr A. W. Hogg, who was present, here, by invitation, gave an explanation. He said he was a member of k the Masterton School Committee, and that that body was not favorable to the Fernridge Committee's views on this subject. Mr 6. Beetham, M.H.E., wrote saying that lie would be glad to meet the Trust on Monday next to coijjjau'ith them regarding the provisKfllof the proposed Bill, as Parliament was summoned for May 10th. Mr Hare spoke of the necessity of attaching to the Bill plans of the various pieces of land which had been transferred to the Masterton Borough Council. Most of these had been made over to the Council without proper legal conveyance, and bringing them under the Bill was intended to avoid expense in this direction, He moved that Mr Driimmond, the surveyor, be authorised to prepare plans of the land given to the Borough Council for street purposes. This was seconded and duly carried, The draft of the annual report and the balance sheel was then read by the Secretary and approval was reserved until Mon?day evening, by which time Mr Beetham would have conferred with the Trust. It was resolved that the balance sheet should be audited, and that it and the report should be presented to the annual meeting, to be held in the Temperance Hall on Frida\d&fcimg next.
