Special Settlements.
The following lettorhas been placed at our disposal for publication br Mr Job Vile, Secretary of the Parkville S.S. Association:— Crown Lands Office, Wellington, March 16th, 1888 Sir,—l have the honor to inform you that the Government, on the request of the Land Board, have resolved to assimilate the position of selectors in special settlement blocks with those of ordinary deferred payment selectors aud perpetual leaseholders, under the Land Act, 1885, and Amendment Act, 1887.
This will allow of the following alterations, &c, to the licenses: Ist. Increase of area to 320 acres, in terms of Section 107, Land Act 1885. 2nd. Capitalization, Section 126, Land Act, 1885.
3rd. Obtaining titles on effecting proscribed improvements, Section 16, Land Aat, 1887. 4th, Extension of licenses to 14 years, Section 20, Land Act, 1887.
sth, Exchange of license for a perpetual lease, Section 130, Land Act, 1885.
By reference to New Zealand Gazette, No. 14 page 299, you will see that selectors can extend their holdings to 320 acres.
