Annual Report of Education Board.

A site has been secured for a school in Clyde Quay. Tho teaching staff numbered 242, including 15 teachers of _ sewing. Tho report after giving a jyist (which has already been published Mm these columns) of those who had scholarships, continued : "Tho Government have withdrawn all aid to the Training College tho closing of that institution was neces- —. but-the economy was not to be i'egrettmas the cost of training the few stuuents was out of proportion to the practical results achieved. The report stated that Mr Riley, the drawing master, had done good work in the public schools, and that teachers, pupil teachers, and students attended the School of Design. Good progress was made, many of the teachers travelling a considerable distance at their own expense, for instruction, The examiners spoke very highly of the work done at tho examination. L96918s Id had been spent on rent and in repairs to buildings, and £375 12s on the School of Design, and the Board hopes that assistance will be granted to the School of Design as promised by tho late Minister of Education. The Board granted Mr Lee leave of absence to visit England, and the examinations have been carried on satisfactorily in his absence. Mr report was also laid on the M table,
