Hie first train in the Dominion of Canada lighted by electricity is regularly running he weon Montreal and Ottawa. A Pullman drawing-room car, one first-class car, and cue secondclass are fitted with incandescent lamps and Julien storage batteries. There are 19 lamps in each of the two former cars, and 13 in the latter. When arrangements are completed trains will run from Halifax and St. John to Qiiebecand Montreal, lighted by electricity and heated by stream. The batteries will be removed from the car for charging, which will be done at Halifax, Monction, St. John, Point Levi, and Montreal, It is reported that the Canadian Government has appropriated for electric lighting find steam heating on the intercolonial railway the sum of 24,500d015, and a company is actively at work equipping two trains with Julien storage V baj^vies.
