Importation of Stock, Wellington, Feb. 28. The Government have declined to remove the prohibition on the importation of stock into New Zealand. The removal might have been made if »ny- v ; benefit would accrue, but as thacplOffP"' is now well stocked with all 6Hes of cattle, the removal of the prohibition is considered unnecessary. Pasteur's Remedy in New Zealand. Wellington, February 28. The Awatere Road Board has asked the Government for leave to import and experiment with Pasteur's Microbes, but the permission was refused, tho matter being one for the Government to take up; and as the Australian Governments were now conducting experiments, New Zealand could await the result, and derive any benefits without incurring anffl^ks.
