THE EKETAHUNA FIRE.

Yesterday morning at a little before two o'clock the inhabitants of Eketahuna were aroused by the violent ringing of the school hell, when it was ascertained that Mr Beckman's boarding house was on fire, it having originated through the bursting of a kerosene lamp, which Mr Beckinan kept burning in his bedroom. Fortunately the fire was extinguished after some time by the able assistance of the inhabitants, who gathered in great numbers. There were five rooms and thbir furniture partly destroyed. The value of the property injured is esti-! mated at over £IOO, It is insurod in the New Zealand and North British Companies.
