' A meeting of this Board-was held on Tuesday, the 14th inst. Present —Messrs Kebbell (Chairman), Napier, Marsh, Benton, and Dunn;
The miautes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The follow-' ing inwards correspondence was redjt , v . —From.the Treasury, with a staiiP. ] ment showing the amount of interest. J due on inscribed debt as well as 'that on the new loan, the amount being" £75 2s 4d.. Resolved to pass a cheque for the same, and remit-the amount. Prom the same advising a remittance of £3O 7s 7d on account of deferred payment and leasehold thirds. From the same re application for loans, • and stating that the date on which applica-
tions can be received will be gazetted, From the Boards solicitor in reference to the dispute with Mr Phillips ro right of road. The Chairman with Messrs Napier. and Benton, were ' appointed a committee to report on the ' matter. Prom the Commissioner of Crown Lands stating that a certain road line on the Tnwataia cannot be closed, as some of the lands there have not yet been granted. From Mr John T. Duffy requesting that Section 31, •.- Block XI, Mangaone, be-' transferred to the Tawataia subdivision, and that steps be taken to erect a foot, bridge or cradle on the Te Hoe Creek. ved to inform Mr Duffy that' tlflpi Board has no efficient knowledge of the'" said section, and that regarding.. the ' other matter, the Board has no funds ■' for the purpose. Prom J, W, Beaufort with a report on MsMillan'a formation contract, stating that he has found the work satisfactorily performed and suggesting some slight alterations. Resolved to pass the balance of said contract. Prom General Crown Lands Office with a copy of two Orders in Council, first bringing the Alfredton Recreation ground under tho "Public •Domains Act, 1881," and second .appointing the management of the said ground in the Board to be known as " The Alfredton Domain Board." Prom Property Tax Commissioner stating that a voucher for amount of rates on ", Crown Lands has been passed to the Treasury tor payment. Resolved that tenders be called for metalling 60 chains, more or less, of the- Alfredton District Road, tenders to close on the* 28th instant. Accounts amounting (H 1 £lO2 18s-were passed;for.'payment,and Messrs Marsh and- Benton were appointed to sign-cheques. Resolved that the-meeting stand adjourned to. the following day at 2.30' p.nr. for thV purpose of receiving and dealing with the report of the Committee appointed toconsfder the matter'in dispute with Mr Phillips. ' The Board agaiu met as'arranged on Wednesday.tko 15th inst, when all'the members wore present, The Committee reported on the matter in dispute with Mr Phillips, when the Chairman and Mr Marsh were appointed to institute proceedings to' prevent Mr Phillips from further damaging the road, The noxt meeting was fixed for 28thinst. ..,-■' •,-
