Tho first day of the Wairarapa Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting opened with splondid weather. Tho attendance at one o'clock was about COO. Tho following are results so far

Freebootor was tho first to get away, and jumping splendidly, landed the winner by fully half-a-dczen lengths. Kangaroo was the first favorite on the totalisator, but tho hard nature of the ground .vas against him. Johnny was never in it. There wore 90 mi tho Totalisator, and 29 on the winner. Dividend, £2 15s. .
