Tub Masterton Borough Council sat last evening for nearly three hours, for all practical purposes it might just as well have sat three minutes, It was agreed to adopt the report of the finance committee in order that wages slight be paid, and the rest of
the time was taken up 111 wrangling. The Mayor does , not recognize the authority of the Council, and the Council will not submit to the unconstitutional position taken up by the Mayor, and so the thing goes on, The . Council appears to be slightly weak. The members of it do not seem to be taking a decided course and as His Worship has adopted a most decided one they do not hold their own as well as they might do, They are in the right but they appear somewhat at sea as to the means they should adopt to maintain their right.
