Alfredton Road Board.

A special meeting of the above Board was held on Tuesday th&Ji&t January last, Present-Messrs Mffl, Smith, Dunn and Benton. In the inavoidable absence of Mr Kebbell, Mr Marsh occupied the chair. The following tenders were received lor 49 J chains metalling on the Alfredton District Road. James McMillan £4514s 4d (accepted), Henry Stevens £55 lis 3d, Connell and Brannigau .£69, Anders Anderson £B4 15s, (Informal), T. P. Girdwood £97 103. Correspondence was read from the Board's solicitor, who is acting on behalf oMie Registrar to the Supreme Court iu taking proceedings against the School Commissioners for arrears of rates, also an injunction granted by the Supreme Court in the same matter.

_ It was resolved to instruct the solicitor to advise the Registrar to proceed in the direction indicated for recovery of all rates and oosts, and at the same time to direct the attention oLtho .. Registrar to the statements subnjpfed on behalf of the School Commissioners, '.•■ V' •in Court, on which the interim injunction was obtained, said statements not being in accordance with facts. It was decided to request, Mv Beaufort to examine, and if satisfied, ,to pass MoMillan's formation contract.
