WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

The following is the effect of the motion re the establishment of an independant Conference in New Zealand, which was carried by 39 to 2S i votes at the representative session, uow being held in Wellington u (l> j That in view of the resolution adopted ' by this Conference in 1886, a resol--1 ution which was endorsed by so large a majority of members of the quarterly meetings in September last, the recommendation made in 1881 and 1884 that New Zealand be constituted a separate and independent Conference be repeated, and that the General* Conference be urged to give effect the recommendation forthwith; (2) That in giving effect to the above, the claim of New Zealand to a shave in the supernumary and ministers' widows'fund, not only as to these subscriptions and payments on behalf of the ministers now in New Zealand, but to a share in the accumulated profits be recognised, and that in the arrangement ior constituting this Colony an independent Conference, the amount of this claim 1 be determined by actual calculation. (8) That the New Zealand Conference pledges itself to do its utmost for the support of foreign missions, either by still contributing to the fund as at present constituted, or' by taking over such station or stations as this Conference " is able to sustain.
