Addresses His Constituents.

Maeton, 25th January. Mr R. 0. Bruce, member for Kangitikei, addressed his constituents last night, He spoke strongly in favor of the Government, and received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.

Wool and Tallow Shipments.

Bluff, January 25. The Barques Alcestes and Asterior sailed for-London with 4825 bales of wool, and 68 casks of tallow, The Kirkdale, with 4000 bales of wool, is expected to leave, this week.

Melbourne Exhibition.

Sensational Horse Accident in the Gorge.

WooDviLtE, January 25. An accident happened to a man named Quinlan whilst leading a horse through the ManaWatu Gorge. The horse shied, knocking Quinlan and the horse he was riding over a precipice. They fell sixty feet, the" horse'being' killed, but-the man miraculously escaped with only a few bruises'.

A Bushranger.

Westport, January 25.

A man, giving the name of John Gardner, was arrested on the Buller Soad, thirteen miles from Westport, yesterday, by. Constable Bowden, of Lyell. He is wanted for a sticking-up case at Buck Hill Station, Marlborough.. It is alleged that he entered the hut of a man named Anderson, stole some money, and fired a revolver at Anderson. Prisoner answers the - description; and admits being at the Station on the day in question, but he denies having had any rowlhere. He will be remanded to Blenheim. ' .
