LAND BOARD.

TII9 usual fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held at the Board's offices Wellington on Thursday last there being present Messrs J. W. A. Marchant (Chairman), G. Beetham, D. H. Macarthur, M. H. R, W. A. Fitzbeibert, W. W, McCardle, and A. Reese. The schedule showed the land disposed of since last meeting to be 1158 a 3r at an upset price of £1077 17s 6d of which £45 0s Id was paid up. The commissioners reported that Mr D. H. Macarthur, of Fielding, had been appointed a member of the Board, the application of Mr L. Bourko to capitalize the unpaid instalments on sections 21 and 22, block 11, Mangaone, was granted, as was also Mr E. T, Greville's application to have his deferred payment section 50, Block I, Makini, converted into a perpetual leasehold. The application of Mr R. R. Meredith for the purchase of sections 1 and 2, Block XI, Rewa, at 5s per aero, was deferred for consideration till next meeting. Mr A. E. Ashcroft forwarded a schedule of sections Block IX, Ongo, and the value placed on the fame by him as approved. It was resolved to offer the same to the adjoining owners without competition at the prices fixed. If not accepted by them the land be thrown open under the land Act Amendment Act, 1887.
