FOURTH SALE OF THE WEL-LINGTON-MANAWATU RAILWAY COMPANY'S LAND.
On Friday next, Messrs T, Kennedy Mac Donald & Co,; {lie well-known auctioneers of Wellington, will sell, by order of the Wellington -Manawatu Railway Company, 12,000 acres of agricujtfj&l and pastoral land. The phenoMial success in every respect of the Company's previous sales will be fresh in the memory of our readers, and already we have heard of several ofse purchasers at these sales being asked to sell their sections at considerable advances on the original price. The block now to be Bold lies adjacent to the settled township of Otaki, and is very highly spoken of by those who have inspected it, for the great fertility of tho soil, its advantageous position on the line'of railway so near the Empire City, and the convenient subdivision into various sized sections all well watered, and reached by partly cleared roads. The timber is mixed tawa and rimu, and on several sections there is magnificent totara. The Company, in fixing''the terms, ten per cent cash; and balance in seven years at fivo per cent interest, have in view the settlement of- the- land by bona fide purchasers who will immediately improvements, and so at once cr«S traffic for the railway line; The success of this scheme is' evident iu the sales .that have already been held. In the Manakau Block, for instance, whioh was sold in May last, already three-quarters af the land has been cleared and settled. Every facility the way of inspecting the land ha« been offered, and one great advantage to purchasers of bush land is the fact that the company burn wood instead of coal iu their onginos and are prep&MJto purchase in large or small quantities from the ■ settlers. Outnumbers of intending purchasers from all parts of the colony have visited the land within the last few weeks, arid there is every indioation that the success of the coming sale will be as marked as that of its predecessors. On the same day the remainjug sections in tho.townßbips of Shan* uon, Tojparu, and Linton will be Bold.TlJJpititjonoftheßetownslijps&t once assure their future importance as business centres, and we expeot to see keen bidding for the several lots.
