. [From Our Own Correspondent.] " (By Telegraph). Whether wilfully or by accident is" not known, but bush fires are-now raging. The firns were first started on Sunday in the Mangatainoka Village Settlement, and the high winds-which have been blowing since are carrying them through the country. The fire is running through bush just felled burning the light- stuff only. It' is impossible tocstimate-.the probable.damage, asbesido spoiling the burns, a large quantity of grass seed is bound to be destroyed. The fire is now in the Pahiatua Village Settlement and it is feared several buildings will be burned. Mr Beelham of Masterton, 150 acres of whose bush land had jhst been completed,.is amongst tho sufferers, tm the lire is running through the whole lot.
