11. J. Nancanw has been unanimously elected Chairman of the Harbor Board.
The Bazaar open for several days in aid of St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church has cleared about seven hundred pounds. The Harbor Board during (he year just jlqsed has expended slightly over seventy six thousand pounds.
Most of the navvies now unemployed on the Midland Railway have gonn to Christchurch, though a few are still hanging oil waiting for new contracts.
ANOTHER D3A TO IN THE BUSH Woodville, January 5. A. working man named Cully was killed while hush falling last evening. He leaves a widow and two children McTnggiirt, a boy living at the Gorge, received severe injuries to his face last night through playing with blasting powder.
