The robbery of cancelled notes from the Bank of Australasia is still unexplained, no clue having been obtained aa to tho perpetrator of the theft... Uy to the present eleven onepound notes have been detected in circulation insufficjently defaced. The number of notes missing is still unascertained. ' ,

A number of nominatioiis to the Legislative Council have been, made by the Government, deluding Sir William Manning, ex-)udge, and seueral ex-members of the Assembly. _ The programme for the week's festivities in celebration of the centenary of the Colony, extends from the 23rd to the 31st of January. ■ The weather still continues wet.
The revenue of Victoria for the half year is expected to show an increase of about £220,000 over the returns for the corresponding period last year.
