All extonsive fire broke out at Redfern to-day, Horden's furniture factory ■being almost entirely destroyed. The' damage is estimated at about £20,000, of which £12,000 is covered by insurance. Owing to the distress prevailing amongst the working classes,, large numbers of artizans are emigrating to Queensland as farm laborers. Mrs Gordon Bailie, of New South Wales has obtained several grants of laud in Australia for the purpose of establishing settlements of Skye Crofters, and she has applied to the Imperial Government for assistance in facilitating their immigration.
