Nelson, December 8. A correspondent of-the Colohist . < reports two accidents at the Table land ; of the Mount Arthur diggings in 'the Upper Takaka Valley. In the absence'of the usual half-yearly statement of accrued thirds, and which should have been in possession of the Board months ago, the matter of furnishing a list of sections was left in the. hands of the Clerk, From R. H. Eeany, re particulars of field work on the Tawataia road, and apologising for delay, From Bank, iu reference to loan, money on deposit, and due on the Ist December. From Chas. G. Good, re unused road lines. Besolved that the Board is not prepared to hear the cost of the transfer of unused road lines. From same, requesting that the name of Win. Good be substituted for his own as occupier of the property now iu his name. Agreed to. From Smith and Hogg in reference toadver-•• tising. Besolved to' inform Messj Smith and Hogg that the Board hTJL. decided that all advertisements will be inserted in one Wairarapa paper only. A Hy. Hall, on behalf of the Supreme M Court Registrar requesting to be in- m formed if the" School Commissioners Jgj are still in default, and the amounlJSj under judgment. has decided on the proposal to appropriate £IOO,OOO for the purposes of " The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," a notice will be published in the Gazette. From J.. W. Beaufort, with plans, specifications, etc., for work on the. Tawataia Road, and stating that he had to visit the land again to complete the taking of cross sections, and that ho had incurred extra expenses to the extent" of JGI Os.-Resolved that this extra be ; allowed. From W. J. .Saunders, requesting that the Board will open the Tivaumea District road for traffic. —Eesolved to vote the expenditure of £B7 on doing the necessary work; It was resolved that Mr Phillips be written to that the obstruction on the" district read on his boundary must be removed. Accounts as per payment sheet and amounting to 156 7s Id' were passed. Messrs Dunn and Benton were appointed to sign cheques' on behalf of the Board, and the next meeting was fixed to be held on the second Tuesday of the new year.
