GLADSTONE is by Trince- Royal (30) dam a mavo by Old Wellington, grand dam imported from Victoria. Tho well-known Clydcsdalo Stallion Prince Royal was bred by Mr D. McQueen, Smcatou, and was imported by his present owner, Mr John AlcKellor, Doyleston, Canterbury. Prince ,{, -al is by Prince Charlie, who was imported by Mi'ts J, and M. Princo Royal is a rich brown color, stands lfi hands and 3 inches, showing great symmetry of form, with plenty of hair and bone of the best fashion, Prince Royal commenced his career as a prize taker at two years old, securing second place at Ballarat, and second at Smeaton, where he was only beaten by Darwin, the winner of the Sires' Produce Stakes of £lO. Since his arrival in this colony ho lias always been a prize taker in every show yard where he has been entered. At the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show of 1880, hn was awarded Hit Association Medal and the President's Cup as the best draught etallion of any age on the- ground. His stock arc now beginning to speak for themselves, notably Mr Slotkkt's colt Lord Raglan, who took first prize as a three year old at Christclmrch las: ywr ; Mr Pocock's Prince Victor; Mr J.
