In this animal the district receives a valuable addition, and Mr Mere- . dith a great bargain. His fellow, a young roan bull, is from equally good stock, and no doubt will be heard of in future at the WairarapaShows.' ' ; .' In the Masterton R.M Court this ■ ; '- v -"morning, before S, Von Stunner, R.M., Mr Beard made an application for an idjournment in the caso of William Hull, of' Pahiatua, who was charged with attempting to commit suicide on tho 14th inat. He stated that tho accused had boon laboring for some time past under financial troubles, which had led him to commit the rash act, and there was now every prospect of things being cleared up satisfactorily. He asked his Worship to v . 'to allow the case to stand over till Monday, when ho would make a further application, and be in a position to offer •/' • substantial securities for tho future good : ' - Conduct of the accused.
