GLADSTONE is by Princo Royal (30) dam a mare by Old Wellington, grand dam imported from Victoria, The well-known Clydesdale Stallion Prince Royal to bred by Mr D, •McQueen, Smeaton, Victoria, and to imported by his present owner, Mr John McKellor, Doyleston, Canterbury. _ Prince Royal is by Prince Charlie, who was imported by Messrs J. and M. Mcintosh from Scotland, where ho gained 7,lst prizes. His dam Blossom by Botliwell was also imported from Scotland. Prince Royal is a rich brown color, stands 16 hands and 3 inches, showing great symmetry of form, with plenty of hair and bono of the best fashion.* Prince Royal commenced his career as a prize taker at two years old, scouring second placo at Ballarat, and second at Smeaton, where he was only beaten by Darwin, the winner of the Sires' Produce Stakos of £lO. Since his arrival in this colony he has always been a prize taker in every show yard where he has been entered. At the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Metropolitan Show of 1880, he wsb awarded the Association Medal and the President's Cup as the beßt draught stallion of any age on the ground. His stock are now beginning to speak for themselves, notably Mr Stoddart's colt Lord Raglan, who took first prize as a threo year old at Christchurch last yenr; Mr Pocock's Princo Victor j Mr J.
