(To the Editor). ._. T^j Sir.—l wish to call ;«Wtion *-*£: through your columns to an apparent inconsistency on the part of the North Wairarapa County Council. We the settlers on the small farm flection; of -.■ the Eketahuna to Tinui roadljar« been threatened with certain pains andpenalties, if we allow our cattle to stray,on the road. If the cattle'damaged the. road, no one could cavil-at ' the order to keep them off, but afc.tbe same time our neighbors "the funholders are allowed to erect gates and enclose the road in their, grazing .paddocks; their poition of tho road being made and maintained equally with the other portion, ont of the public rates.
