The annual general meeting. ols|tß Mastorton Opaki Jockoy Club'' twas held at the Club Hotel on Saturday evening last. Present— Lowes, President (in the chair)/ 0. The sub-comraitteo appointed to inspect the course- reported that they had, in company with ill* O. E. E, Chamberlain was then ■'unanimously elected President,-on the motion of Mr E. Dixou, seconded bv Mr Lowes. Mr Lowes, iu vacating the chair, thaulied the members for the honor of electing him as their President for so k many years, and promised that "' altli ough ho was severing his connection iu that respect, they would always tiud him a warm supporter of tho Club, The following officers were then elected; Treasurer, Mr A, Elkius; Starter, MrT. Parsons; Judge, Mr A. W, Cave; Clerk of Course, Mr W. lorns; Clerk of Scales, Mr J, Harding; Timekeeper, Mr J, Muir; Hand'Muper, Mr J. 0. ICvett; Stewards, ■fiKssra J. Kossi, W. Lowes, \V. l>. Buick, K. Welch, J. C, Vallance, E. ' Chamberlain, H, Yates; Auditors, Messrs J. Payton and W. ijollur. The Secretary was requested to bring up a revised list of members at the next meeting. It was resolved that ail owners of horses in default with their nomination , fees, be not; allowed to start their horses .. in any race. Two tenders were received for tho I . protective works to the course, but it | 'wasUojidtid not to deal with them at ... present, and the previously appointed Committoa were requested- to wait Upon the adjoining property-holders with a view to ascertaining if they ' would subscribe towards the work, Mr E, Dixon g«ve notice that at the
