A CORRECTION.
To the Editor. Sk. Allow mo through your journal to correct a statement that has been going the rounds concerning Mr Beetham's meeting at the schoolHawkins' " misled supporters," a: ■ leading man at that, that Mr Boetham bad a vary miserable meeting, and that it took him all his time to get a vote of thanks, and that'only for the exertions of Mr Donald and Mrßogers the vote would'not have been pro-, poaed. Now, for the benefit., of that gentleman, allow mo to state that neither of those two gentlemen were present, and-that instead of a- miserable meotipg there were fifty-four ',6r' .fifty. - five sensible men •preg.oiit. and'l thinkl might say that..aEwould carry a vote of thanks for Mr ; Hawkins, '• let alone Mr Beatham. iThe next jime- . that gentleman wishes-to .pick a hole fe in his opponent's side let hipl tell the' ™ truth, for surely a Go3pel Temperance •leader does "ibt.want a tissue of lies'to back him yip, as he must know that '' he is putting himself to a lot of uh•necessary trouble.
