CASTLEPOINT ROAD BOARD
The usual monthly meeting was held on Saturday last. PresentMessrs Andrew, (in the chair) Elder,' and Langdon. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The Treasurer reported balance in Bank £740 18s 4<3, and balance availabla for future expenditure £12718s Id. Accounts amount-, ing to £8 8s lOd were passed for payment. Letters wore read from County Clerk re matters of account in dispute, and Blackhill road, Chief Surveyor re sections 811 and 850. Treasury, re paymont of rates on Native Lands. Same, re payment of part of subsidy. Registrar General, re returns. Resolved.—That willows be planted near the Manawa bridge. That tho sum of £BOO be paid to the County Council on account. That a general rate of five-sixteenths of a penny in the £. be levied for the current year, payable in two equal instalments when the amount is over £5, under that, in one sum. That a sum of £5 be expended on Adams' Peak road. Notice of motion, that tho balance in baud be expended pro rata on district roads. The meeting adjourned to tho 24th September.
