Dukedik, August 29, John Mathieson, insurance agent, was committed for trial to day for robbing and assaulting a Ohinaman. He met the Chinaman, who is a hawker, on the road, and asked to see the- license, demanding £l, at. the same time. ; . The Chinaman being rather slow' in complying with the Mathiesons struck him,, and kuocked-his goirts stout, John eventually handing oyer 10s to get rid of him.but taking a good look so as to identify him, and then informing the police. .
