WESLEYAN CONCERT.
Thr varied and attractive concert'-in aid of the Wesleyan Organ Fund,' drew a numerous audience to,the Temperance Hall last night (Tuesday) The Choir, under Mr rendered a number of glees and ic,pn-: certed pieces in a .creditable manner, "Hail, Smiling Morn," and 'fiThe Lord bless thee," being, their -:beßt efforts. H there is a fault to find, it is that the female voices are M pre* ponderating over those of the%rsr sex, a fact most noticeable in the!see " See our oars." Miss. Galloway opened the programme with a fantasia on Verdi's evergreen "tl Travajtorei" her touch being firm, and her phrasing olear and distinct. Mr Gaskill elicited an encore for" Arichored" j4ljile Mr "Wickeraon, whose voice the temperance Hall seems to suit, Had to. respond to a vociferous recall foj.'his rendering of Eeichardt's celebrated ballad" Thou art bo near." The,two most successful vocal items of the evening, however, were Mr Harrison's •!
