A very singula? base of euioide. haj occurred- at Fit'zroy .suburb; -Angus. tusßollom,.a young chemist in- the : . employ of Fed and'.tb.,V.SwiMfcm street, took; a dose; of prussio aoid. at' his boarding housej and left' the. following letter for his employers:—" I wish this to be thoroughly understood that this is • no. sudden or impulsive deed. :Ihave &ome to the "same conoiueionasmycwn friend Charles Wilson, that life is not worth .'living, and people will see this. by,.'his last testament. All necessary' arringemeiits' have been made for our bufial,'- The Charles Wilson referred to • was - a' feiiowfbbaidar!, and hadjleptiri the 1 same bed with deceased- for' the;past 1 two months. There was ,nb .evidence} however, that any agreement had been oome to between the two to oommitsuioide, else Wilson would have been liable to a charge of murder. -Addfe tional interest was attached to .the caso because several years ago a some? what similar case happened. ' ! Two men named Marks and Feeney;':had agreed to destroy each other. • .-They presented pistols eaob at. the other's head in-the Treasury Gardens. Feeney was shot dead, but, either through acoident or design .the pistol in the hand of Feeney did not explode. The case created a great sensation, and Marks was hanged for the murder of Feenoy.. ..
