TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the abovo Board was held on' Saturday last. Present-Messrs H. R. Bunny (in tho chair), E. W. Dorset, W. Parker, N. Grace, H. Braithwaite, James Stevens, W. Booth, and J, Rayner. The minutos of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, A circular was read from the Public Works Department, showing the mode of procedure for taking lands under the Public Works Act. Mr Thoß. Reid applied for bush to be tolled on the line o? road leading to his property in No. 7 Ward. Iu the absence of the Warden, the matter was allowed to stand over, Mr Francis applied for certain _ works to bo done near his property. With reference to laying stones by the roadside, It was resolved that he boallowed to do so providing he puts them into tho hollows, The Clerk informed the Board that the Greytown Borough Council would only consent to hold themselves liable for l-3rd of the loan for the Gfeytown-Mata-rawa bridge. Mr Skey asked to be allowed ta plant a piece of waste land by the road aide, in Ho. 2 Ward, with trees. The matter was left in the hands of the Warden to report on at the next meeting. ' In reference to the half an acre of land which Mr Caselberg offered to the Board for a gravel pit, the lessee refused, t to allow it unlen ha was remunerated, "A»
