MASTERTON CRICKET GROUND
fto the Editor, )
Slit,—Yoa will remember about throe month's ago, an entertainment was given by the amateurs of Masterton, for tbe benefit of the Masterton Cricket Ground. The proceeds of that entertainment 1 understood were to go towards improving part of the ground, such as a top dressing and sowing fresh grass seed, and I believe the Committee of the Masterton UC. were responsible for carrying out these improvements; but may 1 ask whether anything has been done in tho matter.
I was told boiuo time ago, that i§|| OommLttea had walked down to w ground, and came to the conclusion that they did not know -what to do.. Now, I want to ask through your valuable paper (for the benefit of tlbe .Vfasterton cricketem) if one or more of tho many practical fanners in the Master ton district would kindly suggest through your columns, the best way of dealing with a portion of the Park Oval (about .$ an nsro)—that is, to secure a good -turf so that .tne&c&ketera can play on it this season. ISKbelieve the amount to be spent is about g!5. Apologising for taking up so much of your valuable paper, ■''.,' I am, etc, • Mamosa;-- •> July 28, 1887.
