That Mr Mctachlan's request be aeceudedto, Tho Overseer was instructed to attend to Mr Stucliey's request, and to , sea that a drain is cut on the side of ! the Matihawi(road, also that the ruts Upper Opßki rt*d are ralred \ BATES. ■ . „ j : The Board acceded to levy 51 general j rate of seven sixteenths of a pen,ny in i the pound, also a special rate of 3d in 1 the pound on sections 40 41, Block 12, Miki-Mjki, to repay. £SO for road making- ' ■ ■■■■■■■ DEPUTATION. : '' Mr Cade waited on the Board with ; reference to \he road leading through ? Native land to his property. / The Board informed Mr Cade that the Clerk should ascertain when the Crown grant matured ; how muib the Natives would demand for the land, i the cost of making the road, and also - see if Mr Mawley would consent to ; have the road taken through 'his property, 1 so as to give access to the Wnngaehu bridge. The Board also resolved that the ratepayers whose properties aro to be specially rated . for inoney -to be borrowed for constjKlon and metalling the road round thlxpluff, that unless they guaranteed topay.ratea that would be levied on . Mr Blntchford's property, (who has no access ,to lho road) the Board will not proceed further. Mr J"udd attended on the Board re the road' laid off to his section on the Miki Miki, and stated thai; Mr Hugh Campbell would not allow him to pass . through bis property. The Clerk was instructed to ascertain what agreement, was entered into H'-by the Government with Mr H, Campbell fye road through hife property; and also ' write to Mr Campbell on the subject. MessraO.OsbprueandJ, Harvey, jun, waited or tho Board to get the road line leading through Mr Hessey's property to; Donovan's, altered, They itatcd that a more convenient road could be got by taking it through Mr Harvey's property, the latter gentleman agreeing to give his land free for thitpurpoße, providing it; was fenced. Tho'deputation also stated, that Mr MsUibesou .had agreed to the proposed de'Jjfcion through his property,' so as' to raable the road to be brought out to the railway station. - The Board, after a shorll'discussion, agreed to accept their offer ph theae teraa. '• Mewrts' Stuokey and E. Caraeran waited on the Board with a view of getting thfrlatter's property taken .into tho new sub-division, Agreed to. ■ TENDERS, ■ Tfer following tenders were then £ opened for works on ■ Brancepethf Fernyhurst road i -Blane and Bassitt, £BS (accepted) ; Gardiner and Co, £ll9 'j Stevens, £l3O 18s ; Behallj 1116 j. Parker and,Co.)-i125 16s. - Accounts amounting to £228 Is ,9d were ( passed, and the meeting.- adjourned.
