LAND BOARD.
The usujil fortnightly meeting of the Land Board was held at the office of the Board, Wellington, yesterday morning, there being present Messrs J.W. A. Marchant (chairman), H. Bunny,. W. W. McCardk W. A. Fitzherbert, and A, Reese. The sohedulo showed tho land disposed of since last meeting to be 1072 a lr lip, at an upset price of £8891.5s Id. It was resolved to throw open for application, aftor 80 days' notice, the balance of small runs unsold on the Oth June, 1887. The Commissioner reported that a sum of &i 6s for improvements effected on section 28, Block V. Kopuaranga, was available for payment to the original licensee. The payment of the sum mentioned was approved of. The application of
MrW. Brewer to transfer Pastoral Bun No/7 to J. Wilkie was granted, the ranger to report as to assessed value, &o. the Commissioner reported that the Koimamuka, Ngakaroro No.2, and part of the Waimarino blocks have been acquired by the Crown. A •'; schedule was submitted by the Com-' missioner for cutting up the Waitapu ■;■ and Qtamalapua Blocks. A proposal for expending deferred payment thirdi submitted by the Wellington Speoial Settlement : Association was provisionally, approved of, provided the funds'' were . available. The Board op- .- proved of the lands to he offered for. • sale on deferred payment and perpetual ■ lease systems in the Alfredton district, and" decided to defer the sale for a time to allow of part, of tie Rangitumau and Hastwell Clearing Blocks being included. The objection made - by the Wairarapa North County Council to the leasing of the islands in tho Waiugawa river was withdrawn, and 'it was resolved to have the island* surveyed if it was found they were crown lands. - Mr McCardle moved
that tlio Board urge on the Government to give effect to the resolution re: • •/ twopersona holding one perpetual loaße • -.V as joint tenants. The motion was--* seconded by Mr Bunny and carried. The Board then adjourned.—Press.
