The preacher deprecated the Republican form of Government, as savoring of despotism and anarchy, and creating contests between the rich and poor,'averring that it had given rise to more misery and tyranny than any form of Monarchical rule. He contrasted the rule and position of England with other countries, and said that the British Empire stood like a mighty oak .that had weathered the storms of ages, and is looked on with awe and wonder by. the whole world. The church parade of the Mastertou Volunteers fell;' through yestorday, owing to the unfavorable weather, The' Salvation-; Army will hold a.. Jubilee tea meeting, at the Masterto'fnj Barracks to-morrow evening, afterT which a torchlight procession and [ meeting will take'place. At the close of .the morning and evening services in the Wesleyan Church yesterday,"'the congregation joined in singing the National Anthem. Great preparations are being made in Mastorton for ;tb-morrow's demonstration, and with favorable weather we may expect a ve{y successful celebration of this auspicious event.
