TARATAHI-CARTERTON ROAD BOARD.
: The ordinary meeting .of the abovo Board was held 1 on Saturday last. Present—Messrs H. R. Bunny, E. W. Dorset, H. Braifcliwaite, W, Booth, J. Rayner, N. Grace, W. Parker, James Stevens, and D. Reid (new member for No 7 Ward). MrH, R. Bunny was voted to tho chair and the minutes of the last meeting werd read and confirmed. Messrs B. P. Perry and Anketell waited on the Board with reference to
the deviation of a road ; to! be laid off through their property on .the Taratahi. The matter was deferred,'-as Mr PerrA had not prohibited people--from going through his land Mi' perry spoke in reference to fencing the ro&d off, as no portion of his rates had bden expended i for his benefit. He thought the Board ought to allow his vates to be expended in erecting the required feijco. 'He was requested to' arrange with his Warden «\n the matter. ■ The.amitml meeting of the Board ; then took' 'place and the r election of Chairman for 'the ensuing/
year was proceeded'with. Mr Bootfi\ proposed and Mr J. Stevens seconded, " that Mr H. JR, Banny be elected Chair-! man for the ensuing year. This was, unanimously carried,., and tho newly!- ~ elected Chairman returned thanks fof ' \ the honor conferred on'him, and spoko in high terms in refirance to their late Chairman. It was resolved that a ' letter be sent to Mr 15. Boys, thanking him for his past servicos as Chairman to
the Board, regretting very much that the Board has lost his valuable services. The Board then adjourned 'for half-an-hour for, the ratepayers'-meeting but there .were none put an appear. ' ance. The Clerk reid a : state- ' ment of receipts and expenditure for i the past year, also the minutes' of thV last annual meeting, which 'were i duly "" ; confirmed. The meeting' then \ ad- • > journed for lunch.
