TARATAHI-CARTERTON JOCKEY CLUB.

An extraordinary moating of. the above Club was held at the Marquis of Norraanby Hotel yesterday (Thursday). Present—Messrs F, W.E, Seed (in the chair) A. MoKenzie, Thos. Bay, A, J. Armstrong, L. Nix, 0, G. Beckett, P. P. Tancred, A. McFarlane, E. Buckeridge, E. Goodin, W. B. Allen and the Secretary W. G. Dellar. The minutes of the previous meeting wero read and confirmed, The Chairman informed the members that the present meeting was convened for the purpose of considering the financial position of the Club. The_ Secretary gave a statement of the position of the Olub whioh showed that there was a debt of 198 lis lid at present, and no funds to meet it with. Mr Buckeridge moved and Mr MoKenzie seconded That each member be called upon to pay their share of the liability/ and also members who are in arrears .with thoir subscription be requested tfcpay up.—Carried. Moved by Mr Mc&eh) zie, seconded by Mr Nix that in the' event of. any member refusing to pay •■up his subscription and'also his quota towards the liability of the Club the Secretary be authorised to get legal advice on the matter.—Carried. Mr Seed moved and Mr A. J. Armstrong

seconded, that ah 1 moneys received on account of the liquidation of the debt be .placed to a! separate account, and that 110 one creditor he paid his share in Ml until there is sufficient funds in hand to pay the whole of them.— Carried. Mr A. J. Armstrong moved, and Mr Tancred seconded, that the Secretary get legal advice fnm Mr' Beard as to whether members are per-y sonally responsible for their share of- ; the liability of the Club.—Carried.; Moved by Mr Beckett and seconded by" Mr Nix .that Messrs McKenzie and Buckeridge and the Secretary wait, on Mr Beard to get his opinion on the matter, and that the Secretary communicate the result of the interview with Mr Beard to a meeting of the members at as early a date as possible. —A vote of-thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close.
