This diseaßo infects the brood in the larva stale, which dies after it haebeen
Healed up by tlu 'bees and becomes a a putrid, coffee coloured matter. Itn presence mny bo detected by the cappings becoming very dark and sunken, with h small hole in them and gives off a sickening odour, the beeß aeera to gal. disheartened because of failure to mr brood, slop work and finally die out. This disease i 3 very infectious and I earnestly entreat all those who have their bees die, not to leave any pieces of comb or old hives lying about 80 that bees can gtt at them, but burn them 1 right away. The best remedy, I have found, is to spiny the combs with.a 1 solution of cafbolio ; aoid (one part of pure carbolic acid to one hundred of ! water) and keep camphor constantly in the hives.. There are aeveral other reported cures, but..to go thoroughly I into the matter would take.up too much Bpace, which I am afraid;! have.en-1
