SCHOOL EXAMINATION.
Tub Inspector of Sohools concluded his examination of the Feriiridge School on last, and announ* ced that 85 per cent'of those presented had passed. Ho characterised the school "as ono of the nicest that he Was in the habit of visiting," referred to tho good tone pervading it, and stated that "the machinery of the school worked very easily." . Presented Passed Preparatory Class ... 45 ' Standard I ... ' 8 8 „ II 7 '7 „ HI 14 10 „ IV ... ... 13 . 9 „ V ... ... 7 5 „ VI ... ... 22 The Inspector, Mr Lee, visited .the Wangaehu school on Friday April 1 to hold his fourth annual examination. He expressed himself pleased with the work done. Special praise was given for reading, recitation, and arithmetic, full marks were obtained for sewing. The following is tlie list of classes with the names of the successful candidates. Standard I—Presented 3, passed Henry James, .John McKehzie and James Mcl^cuzie, Standard; 11, Presented 4 '(but two were excepted on account .of noir attendance, -Passed Margaret McKay and-Margaret Mcllullg'i).'
