The Wairarapa North County Commenced charging tolls on tho Manawatu Gorge road'to-day. This makes the third set of tolls how imposed over i\ miles of road, Mr Beetham, M.H.81, to-day waited on the Minister for Public Works on the subject, and Mr Richardson informed linn thai; if the local bodies requested the Government to do so, they would place an additional chargo on their bridge toll, arid maintain the road.
