MASTERTON FOOTBALL CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING,
Tiie'annual general "meeting of the Maaterton Football Club "was held at the Club Hotel on Saturday ovoning, March 2Gtli,' 1887, about twenty-!five members being present. Mr William' PeiTy was voted to % chair. The minutes of the last' general meeting were read and confirmed. It was reported that five first fifteen matches were played last season, three of which were won and two lost, one against Greytown and one against the Wellington Club. Seven seoond fifteen matches were played, five being won and two drawn, the Wairarapa Rugby Union Junior Cup being Won by the Club. The Treasurer reported receipts last season as:. follows:—members' subs £l9 5s U, concert and gate money'J>Bß,' special vsubi: for ground £36 9s; expenditure U$ 10s 6d; leaving.a oredat balanceof.£.44 lfia 6d. : /.Tk election; of bfficerr ; waV then proceeded.', with, the Mowing being returned for the ensuing year :-~President, Mr A;. Wiokerson; Treasurer, Mr W; MoKenzie; It was resolved that.the Committee consist of five members besides the '& officio members, and the following were elected: Messrs B. M. D. Whatman, W. Welch, F. O'Connor, J. Kibblewhite, &fld P. D.:Peliing'.".Match Committee, Messrs Whatman,. O'Connor and W; Perry. Dologates to Wairarapa Eugby Football. Union; Messrs O'Connor, W.Perry, and Whatman; Auditors, Messrs W. H. Htrsohberg and E, J. Fitton;, Custodian, Mr F. Pelling. It was decided by ballot ( that the subscriptions be. raised to 10s per annum for adult members, and 5s for ■members under 18 years of age. It was resolved that the Secretary be requested to write to the Masterton' Volunteers, and request payment of the Club's share of the g3te money' taken at the Costume Football match held last September. It was decided to hold an entertainment on Queen's Birthday (May 24th) in aid of the funds of the Club. The delegates were instructed to use their best endeavors to arrange a match Wairarapa v Otago, and also to arrange for s Union Senior Cup.' Votes of thanks wore accorded to Messrs F, Polling and J. Williams, the former for a donation of timber for erecting a shed on the/ground, said the latter for his service as Secretary for several years.., : The season will ,ppen' on Saturday, April 16th, with a scratch match. , The meeting than adjourned till April 16th. ■ ;
