WHAREAMA ROAD DISTRICT.
The ordinary meeting of the Wbareama Road Board was held at the roaidoDce of Mr Cripps oo Saturday last. Present- Messrs George Moore (chairman), E. Meredith, H. Elder, and John Morrison, Tbe minutes of the list meeting wne read and confirmed. Tbe following correspondence was also read:—From tbe Clerk to the Masterton Board forwarding a copy of resolution passed by that body at its last meeting resettlement of acceuuts. from Secretary to the Troa/mry,' &ok» nowledging receipt of copy, of resolution re converting the debentures issued under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act, 1882; from Messrs Hercock and Taplin, re hanlago of timber for culverts. With regard to this matter it was decided on the suggestion of the Chairman to refer the Totter to Mr< Mace who bad been authorised to make arrangements. The following resolutions wero passed .'-That the Clerk be instructed to acknowledge'receipt of !the reßolu-" tion forwarded by the Clerk of the iMasterton Board, That Mr Morrisoji, be authorised to employ tho men for one month between, the boundary of No, 1 Ward to the Waihora, placing culverts and cleaning the water tables. That a man be .'employed for one month, clearing the water tables on Blairlogie" Hill, and placing a culvert where the road has fallen above the rocky corner, A ballot was taken to determine the members who retire from office at' the expiration of twelve months in: terms of the Road Board AoL MesHi's Elder, Moore, and Maco are. the retiring bers.
