MEETING OF CREDITORS.
i The first meeting of creditors in tlie | estate of Benjamin Sudden, of ManI gamakoe, farmer, was held in the old j. Courthouse yosterday (Wednesday) j afternoon. Sir B. Stsnsfield, Deputy j Assignoe, presided, there being six creditors_ present. The statement showed liabilities £3OO 2s fid, assets £l4B, deficiency £l5B 2s 6d." Tlie following are the principal creditors: J.Ross£34 Is fld, Caselberg'& Oo £27, Elliotte £l(H6s lid, Williams & Barker £l9 5s Bd, F. H. Wood £37, Girdwood £ls, Travers £3O lfa, Graham £lB, and twenty-two others under £lO. -

Mr Bunny; solioitor on behalf of the' creditors, examined the debtor, who stated that he made over to his wife in April, 1886, a property at Mangamalioe, consisting of 254 acres 24 perohes, in consideration of money' advanced and natural loYeand affection.There wasafour-roomeddwellinghbqee ereoted .on the proporiy .whioh had been.put up at his wife if, expense for £IOO. Mr Gawith, solioitor, had made out the deed in'his wife's name. The property was of -no value When he. transferred it, as few improvements had been made. About 100 acres had since been grassed. He did not think the property was worth ?£2OO or £BOO. He had twenty townehipsections that' were mortgaged to the extent of £IOO.
