EKETAHUNA ROAD BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of tho above Board was held on the 12th inst. Present—Messrs Bayliss (Chairman), Jhiderson, Niluoti, Viiico, land Tuck. Correspondence was read From Property Tax Commissioner in--148 or rates;; oii |)rown lands; From County Council, re~ tenancy of. County office; from County Engineer, asking of slips on the ;Alfr'edton jrowl; 'from' Mr Geo. Colville, calling attention to the damage to the Hawera road through treesfalling from MrGoodban'a section; froirf Mr ; i Wm, iClarridtje,,. offering to supply' totara; from' Chief Surveyor, granting a months extension of timo to James Coleman, contract No, 24, Mangatme Valley Road; from A, McLeod, engaging to execute'' the Boards orders j from Alfredton Road Board with plan of bridge for Manga-1 one Valley road. A Committee consisting "of Messrs *An lerson, Nilson, and Vinco was appointed to make enquires, and report to next meeting on the subjeot of building a new office. The Clerk was instructed to inform Mr Goodban that unless ho removed the gate from tho Hawera road within seven days proceedings would be taken against him and also that unless ho. made good the damage to tha road oaußed by his trees-the Board would take further steps in the matter. Mr Valler waited on the Board requesting some fallen trees to.beraiuoved from theMangaone Valley road. Mr Vince was commissioned to see to their removal.. The inepeotor of the, works on the Mangaone Valley road south reported the completion of an additional 30 obains arid a progress payment for that quantity was passed, Mr Andersou brought forward the motion of ,whiob t he. had given notice re the Elcptahnna-Tifiui' road. It was unanimously resolved that'the County Council •be requested to alloW'the Bbard to undertake the j?4Dagoffl«ntof'the road so far «n. it ' lies within the road diatriot, and toiand oyqr.to them, the jeparate County rate for. that'i portion; of the : Ridingj the-Board engaging • to; keep |hd : toad in Repair.'
