| FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.} _ The township is just recovering finnz its week of gaiety, and resuming its asual quiet appearance, winch is seldom broken except at our yearly race meeting. Talking of racing, the : meeting of the Tenui Jockey' Club was not nearly such a success as in former yeirs, which I have no doubt was due to the small number of persons present, very few more than 860 attending the two days.
